Stop letting your Dubai balcony go to waste

Stop letting your Dubai balcony go to waste

Most of us move into an apartment in the Marina or Downtown and have big plans for the balcony. You imagine yourself sitting out there with a coffee or a glass of wine, watching the sunset. Then reality hits. Within two months, the balcony is covered in that fine orange dust, the "cheap" chairs you bought have started to peel, and the space is so cramped you can barely move.

It’s a waste. But the thing is, most furniture sold in Dubai isn't actually built for a high-rise balcony. It’s built for a garden in England or a patio in Europe. It can't handle the wind or the salt air we get here.

The wind is your biggest enemy

If you live on the 30th floor, you know that a "breeze" on the ground is a full-on gale up there. I’ve heard so many stories from people who came into our Al Quoz showroom because their lightweight plastic furniture nearly blew away during a sand storm.

This is why we use powder-coated aluminium and teak. It isn’t just about looking good. It has enough weight to stay put when the wind picks up, but it’s light enough that you aren't breaking your back if you want to move it to get a better view. Plus, it won't rust. If you are near the Palm or the Marina, that salt air is brutal on cheap metal and cheap woods. Ours doesn't care.

You don’t need a massive sofa

The biggest mistake people make is trying to play Tetris with a huge outdoor sofa on a narrow balcony. You end up having to shimmy sideways just to get to the railing. It’s awkward and it makes the space feel even smaller.

We usually point people toward the Capri or Ibiza ranges for this. They use a woven rope design. It sounds like a small detail, but because you can see through the furniture to the floor, it makes the balcony feel twice as big. It doesn’t "block" the space. You get the luxury feel without losing the room to actually walk around.

Cleaning shouldn't be a chore

The dust in Dubai is relentless. If you buy furniture with lots of deep grooves or cheap wicker, that sand gets trapped and you’ll never get it out. You end up not using the balcony because you don’t want to spend an hour cleaning it first.

Our sets are built for the lazy Sunday. You can literally just wipe the frames down or hose the whole thing off. We use Quick-Dry foam in the cushions too. This means if you do soak them to get the dust off, the water runs straight through instead of sitting there and making the fabric go musty in the humidity.

We do the annoying bit for you

Buying furniture in Dubai can be a headache. You get a "delivery window" that lasts all day and then you’re stuck with a mountain of cardboard and a confusing manual.

We keep our stuff in stock right here. When you order, our team brings it to your apartment, carries it out to the balcony, and builds it exactly where you want it. We take the rubbish away with us. You could be sitting on your new sofa ten minutes after we show up.

Come and sit in it

Photos online are one thing, but you need to actually sit in a chair to know if it's right. Our showroom in Al Quoz has the full range set up. Drop by, have a coffee with the team, and let’s figure out what actually fits your space so you can start using your balcony again.
